Oto's

We had naively purchased a single oto a while ago and while reading these threads I've found out we need to add two more. I had a couple questions. If we add a zebra oto to the tank will these still interact socially or should it be the same type? With 3 Oto's in a 10g I doubt algae will last long enough to feed them all, how often should I put in some blanched zucchini or other greens to help feed these guys?
Thanks

Hi Heirony,
Is the zebra Oto one of these? I may very well be being daft but just asking

I know Oto's but not of any zebra oto's

Adding blanched vegtables would totally spoil them, please do, because they would love it.

Any kind of schooling fish would prefer their own species. The two species of Otos would probably go very well together, but they won't feel that they are a group, so you still won't have resolved the problem with the lonely fish.

Thanks! We try really hard. We made many mistakes when we started and have been trying our best to not continue so and give our fish a happy home. The Otocinclus was one of our first purchases and amazingly he has made it through cycling, moving the water up to around 1.010SG and back down, cycling AGAIN, and now finally in a stable tank he is looking sad and lonely. So, we definitely want to make him happy.

I had pretty much decided this was the answer, but I really wanted to add a zebra oto, lol. I was hoping someone who knew more than me would say random species schooled together in the wild and this would be perfect! However, I realize that was a bit of a far-fetched dream to begin with.
Is once a week enough with veggies? Should it be more often? I know the algae supply won't last any amount of time at all with 3 oto's in 10g.
