I have a question for a friend...
He bought 2 captive bred black clowns. One seemed fine bit the other remained very thin, then one day, he pooped out a white worm. He qt'd them and started treating with Prazipro. The one did start pooping out worms. But he's done 4 wormings now, over the period of just over a month and still, every time he treats, worms come out. I assume he should use another med, since this one doesn't seem to be finishing the job, but what kinds would be recommended? Hopefully I can get several names to insure that at least one is available in Canada...

My guess is that it's not a tapeworm, but some other kind that won't die from prazi. I'd try flubendazole based stuff, Kusari wormer plus is my favorite. I've never used prazipro as it only targets one of the 3 major types of internal parasite, and do not consider myself qualified to determine what kind of parasites a fish might have for sure.

The problem with PraziPro is that it needs to be overdosed. Besides, it's been used so much by discus owners (at least here in Norway), that there are a lot of IPs that's immune to it. My favorite is also Kusuri Wormer Plus.

I'm kind of disappointed...we have what is generally a really good, hobbyist-run LFS in town...my friend thought it was a safe choice buying his (captive bred) clowns from them and paid top dollar there, rather than go to the large chain store. Not only were they infested but now it looks like the meds they recommended might not have been the best choice, either...
