Hi Guys,

So after lots of searching around trying to find Good filter for my new tank, I've come to this one,the Eheim 2080 professional 3.

I've seen lots of good reviews and some fair comments but no bad comments as of yet.

My question is:
Does anyone know how tall this pump can pump?
From the cabinet to the top of my new tank will be 5ft, would this pump be powerful enough with straining the unit to draw and pump water at that kind of height?
Also i anyone running this pump, pro's/con's?

Thanks in advance
:)

Usually Eheim external filters are quality through and through. But a friend of mine is not impressed with the Eheim Pro 3 207x series. Whether that also includes the 2080, I'm not sure of. The biggest problem is that there's a bottleneck in the filter that gets clogged over and over again. She also has a problem with the hose adapter getting stuck to the top of the filter. She is usually an all Eheim user, but she won't buy this filter again. But again, I don't know if this is also a problem with the 2080.

I have a 2213 that was good for >20 years & 2 2217s I've been using for >10 years.

Ive also seen the 2180 which is a bigger filter, which Id be able to house, but the 2180 has a built in heater, which is appealing as then I would only have 2 inlets and 1 outlet into the tank, everything I would need is housed in the filter system, so I am swaying to the 2180 thermo.

Hmmm decisions decisions
