Hi People,

I currently hold 3 DP's (2 Male 1 Female) in a 40L tank. (With c.a. 10 Amano Shrimp)

They have lived there peacefully for almost 3 years now. A few months ago tensions have gotten higher, but everything is quite calm the last couple of weeks.
I'm currently cycling a 200L tank for them to move into, but I would like to get in to that story in a short while on the Meet&Greet section.

So, back on topic. I was just feeding my DP's when I noticed this Whitish Flake on the side of one of the males.
Does anybody recognize this? It looks like it might just come off, but I don't want to handle te fish to test that.

He's been eating fine (He's never been easy to feed, and is always pretty slim).

The tank has been moved a year ago, so it's running for a year. 3 weeks ago I've cleaned the filter, and you could see that it's wasn't cycling back a fast as I'd like to see. It seems to be running fine now.

So, does anybody recognize this spot? Should I be worried? He's acting, and eating like nothing's wrong. Is it a disease, or a wound?

(I'd hate to see him croak so shortly before moving to a huge tank.)

Try adding Melafix & see if that helps.

It looks alot like a bite mark the Melafix should do the trick if it is.

Yep, that's a bite mark, classic ring around a center, keep your water clean, maybe add some melafix and it should heal right up.

Once you get them moved, consider adding some more females to the mix.. generally you want twice as many females as males to cut down on the males fighting.

Last night it was almost gone already, you can still see it. But it's as if only under certain lighting?

He's been bathing in esha2000 for about an hour last night.

Today it's difficult to see. Se I'll let him roam free today.

When i got them they where incredibly tiny, so one of them got mistaken for a female. It wasn't my plan to have more male than females.
