The abei is on way soon to be with me on Saturday and delighted, am hoping for a fairly inquisitive fellow. But joking with the partner that would like a third down the line (at the time congo congo congo!) and he wasnt indifferent to it..I may have sold most of my spare tanks (most being pretty small and limited) but this could mean a venture to another bigger puff.

I was a little put off with the congo side as only offer was someone selling privately for a £100, it was a 5 incher feeding well on some dead stuff but wasnt planning on spending that much to begin with and as with all animals tend to want them younger to watch them develop. So thinking go all out to source a congo at some point in hope of orange or red.. or perhaps a hairy puff as seeing these spring up on stock lists (further afield than can get but more available than congos). Have read the pedia article and it mentions more flow to help aid more activity, I have some opinions on these but can I see pics of your hairies, roughly the price you paid (wherever you are) and what yours is like in personality? Also if could see their tank set ups etc wonderful. I think the thing with the hairies is finding one with good hairy bits lol.

Now to settle with my fahaka and soon to be abei and then plan down the line...ninja style slip in a secret tank...

I know this post is nearly a month old .... but I just thought I'd comment on my Baileyi.

I have my girl (that's only what I think of her as, I've not had confirmation) in a 30-gallon tank. I used to have her in a bigger tank, but she rarely swam around, so I changed her to the smaller tank to allow for a more active puffer to have the bigger tank. My girl mostly hangs out in either her terracotta pot or the plastic tube I've got in there. She does have her times when she will swim around, but it's not often really.
I seem to have gotten a fairly hairless "Hairy" puffer. I used to hope more hair would appear, but it hasn't yet and I don't think it's going to. I paid £30 for my Baileyi, but the seller was asking £50 and it's only because he was moving and needed to rehome the puffer ASAP that I was able to get her for the £30, otherwise I've seen them for much more.

They are nice puffers, although being a lurker means not much activity, so it's basically just admiring her beauty (with a face only a puffer-lover could love!).
