Dwarf + Red Eye

I currently have a very peaceful Dwarf Puffer who doesn't bother any of her tank mates - 1 pleco, 4 corydoras, 3 tiger barbs.

I was thinking of adding a red eye puffer, what do people think? Also is there any difference in aggression between male and female red eye's.

I do not keep any puffer in community tanks. Sooner or later there are likely to be issues.

I wouldn't do it either. Both dwarfs and red-eyes can be pretty nippy. As for difference between agression level between male and female red eyes, well, my male bit the female to death. Though I'm not sure if it's just MY male. But in general, I believe male red eyes are more violent?

I also would not add a red eye to a community tank...nor would I have a dwarf in a community tank.

I would worry about the competition for food - and the dwarfs have a tendency to be thoughtful about their food before devouring it - unlike the barbs and whatnot - may leave your wee puff undernourished.

I have co-housed dwarfs and a female Irrubesco. The combination was great. Never any aggression between the species. The female Irrubesco did try to to kill another female and a male of her own species, but never a harsh word to the dwarfs.
