Anyone ever do this before? How creative of a tank could I make??

No thanks. For the money, time and trial and error involved....I'll just buy my dream tank. Too many what ifs considering I'm no acrylic specialist. Nothing like spending hour upon hour building something out of plastic you spent a fortune for to find a joint didnt cure correctly or you totally botched up a section and now have a giant, worthless, clear plastic box. But thats just me.

I love DIY! If nothing else - couldn't it be sold as a home for something less... aquatic?

It could. But I would tear myself down over the failure and wasted money. It is a cool page for its intended purpose. Dont get me wrong. Its just not something I would attempt.

+1, very cool and MAYBE a project for when i have entirely too much money and time on my hands. but would be too heartbreaking if i did all that and it turned out to not be water tight. and my luck everything would be perfect except a single pinhole sized hole in a corner or something

That wasa good read, dont know if I would attempt it myself solvent weld is so unforgiving with an extremely short period of time to operate in. Is there a pic of this tank in use.

I haven't seen pics of one in use - but with a little practice with scrap you could probably get some kind of technique. I looked up 'how to make your own aquarium' because my boyfriend was saying I couldn't BUY a 150 gallon... so I was going to enlist my cousin to help me with a little project lol of course, then we'd have to build a stand. He's pretty handy.

BUT... I've talked to my boyfriend's brother today, I guess he knows a guy with a TON of huge tanks he just wants to get rid of.... And my boyfriend also said I should just keep my puffer... He knows how I feel about keeping him in a small tank - and I know how he works... I don't wanna jinx it.. so I can't say it!
