Freeze Dried Krill vs. Bloodworms

I've had my GSP for about 7 months now and he is getting pretty big (over 2 inches). I fed him on frozen krill (the big ones) until about 3 weeks ago when i moved him tanks. He never really seemed to enjoy the krill and was never in a rush to eat it. I decided to switch to bloodworms after I moved tanks and he absolutely loves them but I've been told that they might not be enough nutrition for him since he is getting so big... I give him one cube a day, he always waits until the worms sink to the bottom and then he goes around the tank and slurps them all about within about 5 minutes leaving him with a nice round belly. I bought a can of freeze dried shrimp 2 days ago to see if he would eat them but when I put one in after soaking I realized that they float and he is not interested in eating from the surface at all. Is it okay to keep feeding him the bloodworms that he loves or am I going to have to try to make these krill work? or is there another option? thanks all!

At that size, there are a lot of better, more varied options for foods:

Neither one of these should be the staple of his diet. They need a variety of different food items. And most definately snails at least once a week to keep his teeth in check.

Ok thanks, I've read that article and I would still like suggestions as to what to feed him, especially foods that will sink to the bottom as this is where he eats, I was going to try a small mussel and some snails and i also wanted to try a live earthworm as there's a forest behind my house that doesn't get fertilized.

Like you seem to have experienced; Not all puffers like freeze dried krill either. None of my FW puffers eat it (they actually get angry with me if I try to give them that), while my BW can eat it (they don't like it very much either, but still eats it). I tried to give them a few times, and then threw the whole box in the garbage.

My GSP's really seem to like mussels, but of course I give them a few different foods. I never give bloodworm as a staple to any of my puffers, it's more of an "extra" food, but I would say when you do feed your puffer bloodworm, it should be soaked in vitamins to make sure your guy is getting some benefit from it.
