I have two DPs in a 20 gallon tank, I was going to get more but no more ever came to the store

So, I was wondering about tankmates..

I read somewhere on here that cory cats like sand and my dp's have sand..and I read somewhere else that corys might be an option for dps..

So, I gave it a try..a boy do my corys love the sand!!!!

I have three albino cory cats-an adult female and two juveniles.

I have monitored the tank closely and have not seen any aggression..but I see a microscopic super tiny nip in one of the cory's fins..so I am assuming the worst and will move the DPs to a smaller tank and let the cories stay in the 20 since they like the sand so much.

So, I was thinking of making a larger school of cories.

How may do you think I could put into a 20 gallon tank?
I have albinos because I read they stay small, is there any other small cories I could put in...or should I stick with albinos?

You should have 1 for every 5gallons of water(that's what I've been told), but I might do 2

Thanks guys! I asked this q a long while ago LOL..

So far I have just kept it at 3..I did not want to risk overstocking..

That's true. They are to be kept in groups. Sand is also required (like you have ). There are an awful lot of cory species to choose between. But if you are going to get more, I would stay with the kind you already have. They need to be at least 6 of the same species.

Cories are generally not a kind of fish that is to be kept with aggressive species. They don't learn from being chased from places, or to be careful around other fishes that show aggression. They just jump a bit, and then go on with their business again. Like some of my cories coming too close to the cave of a suckermouth catfish (which really isn't aggressiv). The catfish send an angry spray of sand in the cory's direction, and the cory jumps away from the place, before going back to the exact same place again - and of course get another angry spray of sand.
