I've had BeeBoo for 9 months now and I can't believe how he's grown in that time. Actually he seems to have gone through a growth spurt just since we moved him from the 58-gallon tank to the 142-gallon tank. I'm still working on getting him his really large tank, but he's okay for now where he is.

Anyway, here's some photos of him at the size he is now. When I got him he was about 4" and that's everything including tail, now he's 10-1/2" with tail (8-1/2" without tail) and he's turned into a lovely puffer, very personable. He loves when we sit by the tank and talk to him, and he spits water at my husband, which I think is very funny!

So here's BeeBoo when we first got him, just small (sorry this photo isn't better, it's the only one I had showing his entire body). And here's BeeBoo as he is now **Just a note, his colouring is off because I had just woken him up and he was not very happy about that, but he tolerated the photos anyway -- such a good puffer he is!

Sounds like he got a little stunted in the old tank. Too bad. But the new tank should do for a while longer! How big is the "really large" tank? Are you getting it custom-made?

There was an advert recently in our local classifieds for a Mbu that was only 12" long, but it was also 9-years old ..... I felt sorry for it after being with that man for that long that he was getting rid of it. I would say that was some serious stunting. Shame.

Thank you, nice of you to say, although those pictures don't do him justice. He's much nicer looking when he's been up and about and his colouring is normal.

Did you ever see the original 'Clash of the Titans' film? I liked the little mechanical owl that the gods gave to Harry Hamlin, and I believe the owl's name was similar to BeeBoo. That's where it came from.

yea, that Owl only made a Cameo in the new one ... I was disappointed
