Has anybody here done a moss wall in their brackish tank?

That's a moss wall done with some Taiwan Moss. I really want to do one in my 36 gallon tank but my understanding is the only moss viable in brackish tanks is java moss. Has anyone ever successfully kept christmas moss or taiwan moss in their tanks?

Here's a DIY for building a moss wall: http://www.aquamoss.net/How%20to%20crea ... 20wall.htm

Christmas and Taiwan moss walls look gorgeous but I will be using java moss if I can't use either of those!

Still a newbie here but been lurking for a couple months! Look forward to hearing any input.

Im not sure if it would act the same since I have only delt with it a couple times for short amount of time. But that looks really cool. I hope you have good luck with it.

I've found plenty of people talking about using java moss for their walls while searching online - but no final pictures of the finished product. I bet someone here has tried this and might have pictures!

edit: Or i'll have to post pictures of my attempt and see if it turns out looking good :)

We tried it and took it down a couple days ago. Be prepared to wait a long time. Ours was in for at least 2 months and we had moss growing through well but it was very sparse. We took it down because we found 2 tetras dead behind it. They must have gotten in on the day we had a CO2 spike (Saturday, took it down Sunday) and not been able to swim out.

They look really neat once done but be prepared for your tank to be ugly for at least 6 months.

Saw that thread! RTR says he uses strictly java moss for his moss walls. Wondering if there is a pic of one of his fully grown java moss walls? I'm probably going to start this tonight with java moss. My google skills are failing me in discovering if taiwan or christmas moss are viable in brackish conditions :(

I don't believe that Christmas moss would live in brackish conditions, but it is a beautiful moss. I did a moss wall on a regular tank last year, but I have a problem with moss. It grows and it looks absolutely beautiful and then it seems to go downhill after that. Does it need to be trimmed in order to stay nice looking? When I use moss it seems to have 3 stages and then it's done. Stage 1: Growing Stage 2: Fantastic Looking Stage 3: Dying off
Must be something I'm not doing right.

Good luck with your moss wall.
