Well pat was doing some digging in the garden today and she dug up a nice fat worm, she asked me?. Do puffers eat worms? I said their suppose to.

So I raised it off and threw it in the tank, he looked interested, but then after 30 secs ignored it, I let it squirm for a bit, it even wiggled under him LOL!

I removed it after about 5 minutes, I though puffers were suppose to adore worms?

That's amazing! Filbert's favorite food. Even after a 3 week food strike, I finally got him to eat with them.

 How can a puffer not be tempted by a moving, delicious worm? I've fed my puffers this a few times, and they all went nuts. Well, except my palembangensis. But she always have to think before eating. She had never seen a live worm before, and had to figure out whether it was dangerous or not. But after trying to stare it to death, she dug in too. She still have to think when she gets a worm though. I think she is a bit scared of it moving so much. She refuses to eat food that is absolutely still (she have to see the food come down in the water. She won't touch it if she just finds something lying on the bottom). But a worm is moving after it hits the bottom too. :paranoid:

Well, it just states what we already know: you never know with a puffer.

My two GSPs go mad for a worm. If its a particularly big one, they get an end each & eat it like spaghetti!

My Fahaka loves worms. I will rinse off a nice skinny red wiggler, and drop it in the tank. I worried the first time I let one loose in there - because it wiggled right down in the substrate and I worried about it dying and rotting down there. However, two hours later I saw it in the substrate, against the glass crawling around. The next morning, I woke up from breakfast - and saw Vicious barreling down into the substrate, ripping that worm right up out of it... shredding and loving it. I think he prefers to hunt his food rather than the stuff that is frozen/thawed and sinks to the bottom.
