What unusual fish could be kept in a 160 litre whether it be a single specimen or a species tank that is non puffer I should add! We have looked at:
Rays - not large enough
Bichir - not large enough
Black Ghost Knife Fish - not large enough
Discus - possibly keep 4-5
Wolffish - keep singular
Angelfish - what would recommended number be for species only tank?
Snakeheads - not so keen on

Angels do great in pairs.

I quite like the discus idea.

baby whale kept solo!

- African Butterflyfish

Personally i'm not a fan off angelfish (SW ones are better). Freshwater fish like that just don't seem very intelligent if you know what i mean. I'm not sure how big 160 litres is in gallons but check out the above fish anyways.

Please excuse these goofs. But you actually can have a type of fish called a baby whale - they're real. They're pretty cool.

Have you ever considered shell-dwelling cichlids? They're fascinating! I want some as soon as I'm not in a dorm and have more space for more tanks.

I would consider 160 litres too small for discus. Having seen how discuses react on the size of their group, I wouldn't keep less than 6 of them. When I first started with discuses, I had 4 of them. They were really timid and scared all the time. When I bought two more, they changed totally! This has also been the experience of many other discus keepers.

160 litres can't keep a whole group of discus. Like puffers, discuses are very sensitive to nitrate in the water, and you won't be able to keep a healthy group of them in such a small place. I know of discus keepers having to give up on keeping a group of discuses in 180 litres. If kept in right conditions, discuses can grow pretty large too. But they get very easily stunted.

no discus = sun fish! easy to keep very pretty cold water fish
