The Big Move

Well I finally did it. I moved several of my puffers to bigger tanks today. Mainly I wanted to get my Mbu into a bigger tank. He had been in a 58-gallon tank, but I moved him into my 142-gallon tank, which is just a temporary stop-ff until I can get a much bigger tank. and I moved my Obie Fahaka into the 58-gallon. The fish that had been in the 142-gallon community tank were mostly sold. PufferPunk will be happy to know that I finally moved all the dwarf puffers that were in that tank to a tank of their own. I originally had 14 dwarf puffers in that big tank, but I only removed 8 of them, so indeed something was eating them I fear, probably the large Panther crab that's in there. Well now the Panther crab will live in fear of being eaten now that BeeBoo is in there. I didn't really want the crab to get eaten, but at the same time, I have no place to put the crab, so he will have to either be crafty and live, or live dangerously and become a snack for BeeBoo. 
Strangely enough, BeeBoo has accepted his new tank very well, and moving him from the one tank to the other went better than I could expect. I took a large plastic container and corralled BeeBoo into it and then moved BeeBoo in the container, which was full of water, and he didn't even try to puff up. So that went very well. I did the same thing with Obie Fahaka, but that was much easier.
I'm quite happy that I've gotten my puffers into bigger tanks and also that I finally got my corys moved to a tank with a sandy substrate, which I feel is so much kinder to their faces and bodies.
So all the hard work is done, but well worth it. I just can't get used to not seeing BeeBoo here at my left-hand side hanging out in the tank where he would normally be .... I thought Obie might take his place, but Obie's been hiding in the plants since I put him in (although he did come out to eat some food).
Oh well, that's life in the puffer house!
