Hypothetically, in a 200+ gallon tank. Could 4 GSPs coexist with a larger puffer (porc, or dogface). Has anyone ever tried it?

My S&S, which is similar to a dogface, lives with two damsels. No aggression out of anybody. Now i know porc puffers have an appetite for fish. I would say you have a better change with a dogface but not sure if they are compatible at all.

Im glad to hear that. How big is he/she and what's his/her set up.
Every puffer is individual and some are very placid, that being said most do advise certain species be kept alone and such . This is important especially as many puffers when small seem to be okay, but in reality haven't developed their aggressive adult tendencies.

Will let you know down the line. My fiances narrow lined dogface Ulrike is going to be a solid footlong. She's about Shakespeare's size now, though definately differently shaped, being a baby, but I hope they will get along OK. There was some fin nipping back and forth between the two the first two weeks they were together, but that settled out completely without more than fin bruises.

I am thinking of starting a similar tank with a DFP and a Porky. Check out my post in Marine Puffers time to time, you might find other responses there as well.

I think Yunachin keeps a porc with GSP.

I've seen a porc, GSP, Ceylon and stars n' stripes puffer together... he had to divide the porc from the rest of the puffers in the same tank because he was picking on the others, but like said above, each puffer is different!! So it may work, and it may not.. just have to be alert and have a plan B if there is any problems

Yes, I recall little Tucker went off to live in a 200 or so gallon tank, so he may well be the GSP living with the Porc, as I cannot imagine a home with more than one tank that size. Of course, Eileen's the type that WOULD have two

lol, well. Now that I have a 250 I might actually be doing this. I'm debating over one larger puffer or a bunch of smaller colorful fish.
