Fahaka Keeps Attacking Glass...Dwindling Down his Tooth!

So i have had my fahaka for almost 2 years now. He is about 2.5-3 yrs old.
He has been very aggressive lately, the past 2 months, and constantly attacks the glass day after day. At first i was fine with it because his beak was overgrown and it helped dwindle it down.
But recently i noticed that it his tooth keeps getting smaller as he keeps attacking the glass. Has anyone had this problem or heard of this?
Im worried his tooth will get so small he wont be able to eat.
He is in a 75 gallon right now temporarily. He is about 10-12" havent measured him
Im in the process of making an acrylic tank for him that is about 180gallons. University is getting in the way

When does he do this? Can you post a shot of the tank? I'd like to see how it's decorated.

Tank looks like this (taken 5 months ago) except less dense
He does this during the day without the lights off. As well as when the lights are on in the late evening....everyday!
Im assuming it might be relfections in the glass but im really confused, since he does it when people are in the room and when there is no one, not even my cat around. Never seen him do anything like this before

LOL, if no one's in the room, how do you see him doing it?
Some puffers attack the glass if they see the color
red. It is possible he's looking for more room.

Another thought is to look at lighting and general surroundings. Sometimes lighting plays tricks with the inside of the glass and they occasionally see flash mirror images of themselves (my turgdis did this also puffed at a red pillowcase). Maybe there is something he's seeing that resembles a food source......
