She was a good fish...
My beautiful Striped Dog face Puffer committed suicide. I couldn't find her yesterday when I went to feed them before the swap but thought maybe she was pouting cause I was late feeding them. But, I moved rocks and never found her. So today I was looking again and I climbed behind my tank ( some of U may know how hard that is). I looked down when I almost fell behind it and there she was staring at me. She was all puffed up. I guess she had jumped out. SNIFF, SNIFF!
I put the half glass back one now I just thought they would like the air.
I'ma miss that fish

I am sincerely sorry for your loss.
I've had a couple puffers do that, most of the time I find them in time, but I lost a salivator once that very same way, only my dogs had found it and taken it outside, so when I finally did find it, it was covered in dirt and dog hair. I nearly cried.

sorry... didn't know they were capable of jumping like that. I will now take some extra precautions with mine.

maybe that could be added to the "puffer pedia"? Caution: known to jump or something like that?

Shakespeare is a powerful jumper when spooked. He has always had very heavy duty covers, but the noise he can make on impact and the water displaced by the splashing is incredible for a 4" GSP. Never stand up suddenly when working in the sump, especially at night! He likes to see the humans coming.

Actually, this reminds me. JP, do you have a cover for the bottom tank? These guys jump out of the water regularly (like several times per day).
