Im just browsing options for saltwater tanks in the future. IF i were to put a puffer in with a sea urchin, do you think there would be an issue with them? this is strictly hypothetical, as i do not have a salt tank or a salt puffer! i was looking at a tuxedo urchin or varigated green.
Like i said before. this is all hypothetical and im just very curious! please let me know if you know anything : ]

My guess is they'd try to eat them.

Yea, that's what i was worried about. Although some are larger and i bet once they get poked good they would back off a bit lol. They aren't supposed poisonous in any way so maybe i might try one. idk. Thanks tho.

Triggers (they're related to puffers) will definitely eat them, and like PP said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if puffers weren't pretty good at making a meal out of them, too.

What kind of puffer?
My takifugu niphobles was never interested in crabs, urchins or anything other than shrimp...

It's a puffer, so you never know. One might back off from the spiny mass. Another might make it his personal mission to bite off every single spine when opportunity strikes, then suck the innards out of it, even if it takes weeks or longer.

lol Darn those cute little monsters. : ] thanks for the advice. As i was thinking about it, my puffers are so smart, they'd figure it out.
