i have 2 figure 8 puffers, one is cheesepuff the other is butterball cute little things they are messy eaters, i have some frozen bloodworms, crab legs and shrimp and freeze dries krill they are eating ok am setting up a new tank for them and am wondering about if it is ok to add lava rock in the tank, i have natural gravel on the bottom with a few artificial plants , any suggestions as to what else i should add thank-you in advance> suzie-q

You'd be better with aragonite sand for substrate. It will keep the pH up & steady, around 8. Lava rock should be fine.
