New Snails - What can I do?

I just got some snails from the LFS and I'm not sure what to do with them. Should I rinse them and then put them in my snail tank? I've heard of salt rinses, should I do something like that and if so how?

I want to minimize the risk of introducing something into the snail tank and then in to the puffer tank.

Thanks :)

i dont personally do anything (mine are in a fry breeder in my red devil tank) im not really trying to breed them so the space doesnt matter for me.
when i get them, i just drop them in the breeder box... but i used to have my snails in an unheated, unfiltered tank... and they seemed fine... maybe if you are worried, you could quarantine them in something for a week or 2... then add them? my snail tank was a 3gal and none ever died because it wastn heated/filtered, but i did change the water every few days.

EDIT: wait, are you looking to keep those snails as breeders or use them as food soon? cause if youre trying to feed them soon, then ^^^^^ that suggestion was useless lol

Breeders and maybe food. Most of them are too large to be eaten easily and I don't want them to suffer by being picked at a few times. When I put them in the breeder tank I will then start feeding some of the smaller ones I have to the puffers.

The deeply compulsive (me) QT everything that is alive, has ever been alive, or if inert, has ever been in a fish tank. QT to me is as basic as water changes, and far less flexible.

Unfortunately I don't have a third tank. I could quarantine them in the small container I have them in right now though.

Well when it comes the size of the snail it does not matter if its bigger then the puffers eyes. Just give the snail a squeeze the shell will break easy, snail dies instantly and you have dinner for you puffer with a nice crunch. At least this works with pond snails.

Unfortunately the snail wouldn't die instantly. They're severely injured but certainly not dead :( I'm not sure I'd be able to crush them like that...

A lot of these snails are large though, about 1cm in diameter.
