Does anybody have any experience of using the LED Moonlight strips in a BW tank (or any tank really)?
I quite like the look of them (seen on ebay only, not in real life!) & was thinking they would be nice for a couple of hours in the evening. They seem quite cheap & easy to fit, but was wondering if anyone already has them & what they think?

ive seen them to on ebay to. they look nice thinking of getting myself some.

I used the 120cm strips for cars from ebay ... got 4 sets of those +1 smaller one for testing. They work great, just don`t put them in the water.

Thanks for that info. TBH, the ones off e-bay are so cheap, I might just give them a go anyway. It says they are safe for use in aquariums so hopefully I won't frazzle myself!

PP, are they just the flexible strips with LEDs in? How do they attach to the tank? The strips on ebay seem pretty short - upto 12" - do you think I need more than one for a 4' tank?

I've got them on a couple of tanks, and they are actually quite easy to put up

The major plus with LED's must be the low power consumption - they'd probably pay for themselves over several months Think they last a very long time, too.

Something for me to look into also - especially for a proposed marine invert tank. I've got a double 300W metal halide but the heat and power involved in running it are quite high. LED's may be better if I'm not that into 'twig farms', more soft corals.

I actually bought some and installed them under the gravel in my tank for more of a "mood lighting" at night, etc. They are waterproof, as long as you keep the connectors dry. I got them on ebay. I got some off e-bay in the end. They are the same shade of blue as yours kezzerone. I fixed mine to the top though, so they shine downwards. Not sure they really give a "moonlight effect".

they do if you have surface movement. The ripples in the water make the tank look very nice
