My 2 inch Fahaka just went through an IP treatment and I changed the water every day little by little till it was back to normal. Last night I noticed white spot on his fins not bad but its there, tonite I saw him flick off of a rock. He is in a 75 gallon tank, no tank mates, ammo 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20. Before I get flamed when he's about 8 inches he'll be in a 120 4'2'2'. I have aquari-sol, I looked at the ingredients and it has copper so no it won't work. What meds have you used to clean up white spot.

I've used that treatment before. Once with rays it worked great, another time with SA cichlids and it came back. I'm going to do this normally I like to use a quick med treatment as long is the medication is appropriate for the fish. Aquari-sol has worked very well for some of my scaleless fish (catfish mainly) but I always read the ingredients and knew that this was a no-no with puffers. Thanks for the quick response if anyone knows of a puffer safe med please respond I'm still curious to know what's out there.

If the ich came back you may have ended the treatment process a bit too soon? If I remember correctly I had to keep up with the treatment for at least a month.

That is probably what happened in the SA tank. I've already started this process tonite, and I'm going to follow through with it till it really seems completely gone after a month. At the same time I think having multiple solutions to any problem is a good thing. When I treated the rays that was different 1 seemed to have a small infection (strange mark) on her disk but I did a salt treatment and it worked out well for me. As I look at more of my meds I don't think to many of them are puffer safe and that's what lead me to the question. Even Prazipro really seems to have harsh effects on puffers simply due to its potency.

You must continue for 21 days after every spot is gone.
