After giving up the idea of a second puff we went to the pet store for some gost shrimp for spot. There my girlfriend Jessica saw him and got a case of the ah he's so cute so now we have another. We call him ollie and he makes spot look....real smart it's funny to watch though.

I can't figure these two out. they have been in the same tank for a coulple of weeks now and for the most part seem to be doing well but some times i wonder if they will turn on one another. I added and changed the decor of the tank be for adding the second puff so there are places for them to hid. my first puff spot likes to hide somtimes and the new one ollie seems like a hyper puppy. he likes to follow spot around and spot dose not always like it.They seem to ignore each other for the most part but some times chase each other around the tank this makes me worry. I am going to set up a bigger tank for them so they will have more room and so i don't have to clean twice a week( 29 gal tank) but they are so much fun! Spot seems to get depressed when I'm not home but after he knows I'm back starts swiming around the take very happy again. Any thoughts on if I may need to split them up or give them more time? Spot did not hide befor the other puff but seemed a lot more board to.

How big is the tank? Maybe post a shot of it, so we can see how it's decorated?

I've got two living together, and even though one is definitely the alpha and dominates the other, they do not fight, there is no biting and only light chasing. I think the alpha puff likes to intimidate the other one where food is concerned, making sure he eats first and then letting the other one eat, but they are both chunky and healthy, so it's nothing bad.
If you've just put yours together mvbroadbill, then they may need time to get their pecking-order right. Your alpha puff may chase the other, but if it's not biting your new one, or causing him any real distress, then I would not worry. I think you should just give them more time and as long as your new puffer isn't being hurt, then I can't see where there's anything to get excited about.

The two of them eat together alright. they nip at each other once an while but they don't seem to be hurting each other and never while eating. They tag team food and thats fun to watch! I just worry about spot with the new puff some times.

Maybe just determining their pecking order.

well I thought I should update this. My two little GSP's seem to be doing good I even see the hanging out in the same hiding place now. At least intill I come into the room then they swim out to greet me all happy like so I think they are doing well.

Yea for the most part they seem to be over what ever it is they do and there just fun to whatch!
