So, if I wanted to glue some stuff together, then put it in the tank, is there a specific sort of adhesive I should fine? Or would wood glue or something work just fine? I'm working with wood, so... just wondering. Also, if I were nailing things together, I'm assuming I need to find some stainless steel nails or something?

Any suggestions?

silicone seal, the same stuff that most glass aquariums are assembled with
i prefer the "All Glass Aquarium" brand, Petco sells it
be sure all surfaces are clean & dry
and be sure to let cure & bond for recommended period of time
very sticky, very strong

stainless / or teflon screws instead of nails as wood will swell when wet.

What are you making? I use Super Glue Gel for light work, like gluing corals to rocks. They make a thick clay-like product for heavier work.

If you are gluing filters and such, I've heard that Gorilla Glue is safe, waterproof, and works really well.

can hot glue be used ? example; for gluing some stones together

For rocks, stone, some plastics, etc, use water-safe epoxy putty. I use Two Little Fishes brand.

Silicone is not lasting in this use IME. It s great for glass, but not much else.
