New GSP with a lucky fin

Hello,

I got two GSP yesterday and they both seemed happy enough.

Today, seem ok but one seems to only be using one side fin. Not sure if it is missing of smaller than the other one but he doesnt seem to be using it.

Also, what does it mean when they contract their tail?

1) I have brackish water in the tank

2) The tank is 35 litres and there are 2 GSP living in it with rock decoration and a few plants.

3) I fed them some live small worm things yesterday and a mussel today.

4) I got them yesterday, I added the plants today.

5) The aquarium has been set up for 12 months although empty for 3. Did a water change before adding new GSP.
Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forum!
What are your water parameters? Did you cycle the tank? How did you make the brackish water? And what is your SG?
You need to invest in a bigger tank soon. Each GSP will need (30 gallons) 115 liters.

Many puffers will choose to use 1 fin at a time (even 1 gill at a time). Curled tail on a healthy puffer usually means's it's resting/napping.

Please read: library/category/water-filtration/

library/puffers-in-focus/an-introductio ... d-puffers/

Since the puffers don't seem sick (yet), I'm moving this to the BW Puffer forum for now. If something isn't done ASAP to cycle their tank though, I have a feeling it'll be moved back to the Hosp Forum. :(
