Has anyone ever tried feeding their puffers Triops? (Triops Longcaudatus)

AFAIK they breed like rabbits

They are a possible, but need space and feeding, and are not terribly fast. Culture in not difficult, but also not terribly productive.

Have you ever tried to raise brine shrimp to maturity? Certainly possible, but IMHO, a PITA and not in any way worth it.

I wonder if they might be fun enough to raise to just be worth it.

Those things are awesome. I may have to give it a try at some point. I wish they were shrimp and snail friendly, then I could just stick them in the 10gal.

Shrimp breeder tank is definately a go.
Snail breeder 5 gal is also a go.

I was condidering the Tripos just because they look neat and their 20-90 day life cycle might keep them reproducing enough to provide a staple food source (similar to gut loaded shrimp).
I don't mind putting in the effort, or the $10 to give it a try

The only shrimp worthwhile to breed IMO as treat food (and not a staple) are the Red Cherry shrimp.

Yay! I did something right! That's what we're getting. My wife is hyped about the shrimp (sisnce I cut her off from buying any more fish ).
