As the temporary forum is history, I'd like to repeat my request for information on Tetraodon abei.

I'm especially interested in info on aggression level and the possibility of keeping several specimens together.

There was a member at the old pufferforum who posted several pictures of T. abei.
I've re-posted his pictures in the photo section.

If anyone remember the name or nick of that member, please contact me.
I believe he was living in Singapore...

LFS just received confirmation that 2 specimens of T. abei will arrive tomorrow afternoon.

Just back from the LFS.
Two specimens had arrived.
I´m not entirely sure that it is T. abei, but I do not understand what else it could be...

Body shape matches the pictures in the Photo-section.
And if seen from the top it matches the bottom fish in this picture.
Colouration could have been washed out due to stress,
and I understand that some specimens recorded have been of a lighter coloration than the few pictures I´ve seen.

One of the fishes was badly hurt around the mouth with most of the tailfin missing.
Gonna keep him quarantined.

And, how profoundly kind can the owner of a LFS be?
She gave me both specimens for free!, since I have been helping out with identification and advice on puffer care.
Oh joy...

Working late tonight.
Will pick up the darlings tomorrow.

She did not say, and I did not ask.
If one includes her turnover, I would guess she gave me 70-80 USD.

I thought I´d keep them separated for a couple of months.
Then some experimenting...

According to Sean, T. abei is aggressive, so it's better to separate them.
It's very beautiful if got good care.

I've told Sean about this forum already. Guess he will be here soon.
Hope he could share his experiences with us.

Well, according to your pictures, I am now the happy owner of two T. abei.
There is also three more specimens avaliable locally, and I will probably buy those as well.

I know you said your English is not to good, but please; do not let that stop you in posting here.

Puffer lovers should communicate freely, without concerning the language barrier.

As the only other owner of T. abei I know of, what can you tell us about your experiences with this fish?
