So I just made my first order through DFS when I noticed these powerheads and they werent that expensive. For the past month I have had a top fin 30 in my tank, and its insanly loud, so I decided to finally get something new. I decided to order 2 powerheads for added circulation and so they would both match. I found the Maxi-Jet 1200's, read a couple reviews and decided to give them a go. I ended up spending $49 all said and done, and now Im wondering if I made a good decision. DFS is only 5 hours north of Milwaukee, WI so hopefully they will be here early next week. So are these Maxi-Jets as durable, quiet, and efficient as I have been reading? Any cons about them? I thought for $49, for 2 powerheads rated at 295gph, it was a pretty good deal. Any experiences that you would care to share with them?

I hope you used the DFS rebate? I have 2 on either end of my 90g reef tank, after battling cyano in there. They seem to be working well.

SAD NEWS PP! I remember seeing something on here about DFS, like a coupon code, but I didnt see it while skimming over the threads yesterday. I tried using the search feature.
BUT I did find a $5 off coupon code. Atleast I know for next time. The second I came on the general discussion forum, my face turned because I saw it was the first sticky.

I just needed to get a new powerhead. I dont mind a slight hum from the motor, but my current one rattles and is extremly annoying. Lets hope they work good for me!

Do you think it would be better if I stickied it some of the other forums too? Where did you look?

Well, I got them today! I guess 2 was a little overkill. I only have one in the tank, agetating the surface for gas exchange, and WOW! Does that thing move some water! I guess next time, Ill control myself and just buy the recommended size for my tank. And at least now I have an extra powerhead in case I need one!

LOL, I've got extras all over the place!
