hi i had 2 dwarf puffers, but returned them to lfs as they werent what we wanted

i did a huge water change, and got 2 gsps instead

they are about an inch and half at the moment, in FW, but will be moving slowly to brackish over next couple weeks

they are eating bloodworms really well, and are exploring tank

they are in a 65 litre tank with caves, sand and plants, but will be moving to a larger tank in the next month or so

i have a fluval U3 filter, and will be doing 50% weekly water changes to keep good water condition.

one gsp is slightly smaller and is thin in the back end? could be worms? or just not had enough food at lfs?

ive found wormer plus on ebay, will i worm them as a precaution?

any other advice/info would be great!

If you suspect your fish of having IPs it should be safe to go ahead and deworm them as a precaution. Read over the IP-prevention and treatment article, it will help you to spot the signs and to settle on a treatment option.

Congratulations on the new babies!

Hi lesleyanndunn! Nice to have you on the forum. Have you read all the info in the pufferpedia about GSPs?

hi i have read all the links and pinned posts as well! eyes going a bit wonky!

i have ordered some wormer plus and will worm them as a precaution.

also have ordered some baby ramshorn snails and live daphnia, just to make sure they arent overfed

the lfs said they were being fed flake as well, but i put in some flake and was no interest in it at all!

its funny when they say they have fed them flake and they are eating it - as i had the same with some of mine - and they wouldnt touch it -

i reacon they tell you that so people will buy them thinking they dont have to feed live or frozn and can just keep them on flakes like their other fish

Flakes are OK as a treat, if they'll eat them, but certainly not enough for a puffer.
