Im thinking of getting another GSP if I do what are the chances they will get along? How do I go about this with out getting one or the other hurt? I have had the one for about four months.

When you're adding a new puffer, it's best to rearrange all the decorations in the tank just before you add it. That way, the first one doesn't have an established territory anymore and they're on equal footing. Try to get a new puffer the same size as the older one. Also, throw some food to the old one while you're adding the new one, to distract it.

The chances of them getting along are dependent on personality, age/size, tank size, and the procedure you use while adding the new one.

Also, I have wondered if maybe it's dependent on gender, but of course we can't know that for sure with GSPs.

Most importantly--how large is the tank? Be aware, you are adding bioload & you'll have to keep a very close eye on the parameters & up your water changes to compensate.

Much bigger--2 require a minimum of 60g.

A 29g really only holds 25g. 30 is the minimum. And 29gs are barely big enough to let a full-grown 6" (not counting the tail) GSP turn around. Probably best to get your singleton into that bigger tank. :) How big is it?

alright will do. My GSP is still small say two and half inch. Would I have time before the bigger tank is needed?

They are a bit smaller.

The only way to keep that puffer healthy in a tank that's too small is to keep the water really clean, so lots of water changes. Keeping the water nice and clean will buy you a little time, but sooner is always better when it comes to a properly sized tank.

UK gallons are bigger.

55 UK gallons is approx the same as 66 US gallons.
