anyone know any good, recommended products that cure protozoan parasites? thanks in advance

Recommended by my LFS (as if that means anything..lol) "AQUARI_SOL" A mild ick and protozoan preventative. Worked well for me. Little drops you can use alot for medicating or a few to prevent outbreaks.

Before you add any meds, how do you know your fish has these?

I know because my fish died without any outer symptoms of other diseases and also because my fish rarely eats and when it does it would spit it back out.
My LFS also said it is protozoan parasites and i'm positive that my LFS is reliable and knows what their doing.

I highly snuggest against medicating for something you have no proof of. Puffers are VERY sensitive to meds, especially copper, which AQUARI_SOL contains. Please answer the Qs above in red.

Yes I do agree with PP Water parameters need to be in check first. Most the time its that, b4 anything else. And as always its better without meds so the fish can have their immune system be stronger and basically immune to the symptoms. I think that all fish eventually have something even if it shows no sign. Its like herpes hitchhiking and waiting to pop up and kill the one's that cant handle it b/c of its weaker immune system>

Um.. this is not what I'm asking? Please stay on topic and don't give me suggestions when I didn't ask for them. Also, I never said i was treating puffers. Don't make any assumptions. thank you. And.. I'm not a newbie at caring for fish..my water parameters are perfect, no toxic ammonia, nitrite, nitrates.

Not to be rude but one can only assume you are treating puffers when you post a topic in the basic puffer care and info (hospital) section....on the Puffer forum...PP was only letting you know the dangers associated with treating scaleless fish with harsh medications. You seem quite sharp-tongued for someone asking for help.

If I remember correctly, I may have moved this to the Hospital section a few days ago, since inquiries on meds & disease treatment belong here.

If that is the case I do apologize. If you still need help Puffur, please let us know what fish you are treating so we can better help you with your search. It's irresponsible to recommend a type of treatment without knowing what kind of fish you are going to be using it on.

I was simply looking for products to treat protozoan disease... I'll make my posts more clearly in the future. I'm looking to treat my halfmoon betta.

In the case of the Betta I'll agree with Sammydee on the AQUARI_SOL (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... catid=4720) ..it is mild and I've seen good results from it. I'll also recommend trying Protozin (http://www.waterlife.co.uk/waterlife/protozin.htm) as it is a mild treatment also...If you can find it..I've had problems locating it in the past but you'll find it comes highly recommended by others as well..

I think Aquarium Solution's Metro+ (metronidazole) is used for protozoan wasting disease, too.
