My snail tank has tons of egg sacs all on the bottom of the tanks and some have already been born. How do you go about changing the water and cleaning up all the snail wastes on the bottom of the tank without sucking up the eggs?

My tank is setup this was already and am currently doing 80% WC weekly. What I do not know how to do is clean snail waste at the bottom of the tank without sucking up the egg sacs that are floating around...

I heard they stick to the rocks so as long as your not stirring the gravel just nicely hovering over with the syphon it shouldn't disturb the eggs clung to the rocks. After I do the change I check the waste water for snail eggs and only seen them once in the waste water.

My tank is actually a bare bottom. I guess I can try this method and see if it still works.

would a bowl be enough to breed snails in?

Yeah but my understanding is you need atleast a 5 gallon tank.

I'm breeding mine in a 3 gallon bowl. Its not prolific, a lot of babies though. Of course I have my local petsmart to bail me out when my supply runs low.

i have nothing at the bottom of my tank and use a small air line to suck up debris but i still suck up baby snails too!!!!!

That is the same problem I am having. Guess until I figure something else out, ill just have to check the bucket for eggs before I empty the dirty water down the drain.

haha can't you syphon them into the puffer tank??

Hello, if its any help, what I do with mine is split the tank syphoning over 2 days, on day one I put a few algae wafers in one corner of the tank and leave it about an hour by then all the snails gather around that area and I clean the other side once there out of the way, theres always 1 or 2 stragglers, but I just go around them, and the the opposite on day 2, placing the wafers the other side and clean again, Its abit of a long winded way of cleaning but I have sucked up any snails nor eggs doing it this way and well it works for me anayway.
