Some sort of round bump on F8!! =[

Hey so ive had my f8 for 4 months already and he's always been fine, always scared, but fine. Even right now hes swimming normally, just tending to stay towards the bottom of the tank. Anyways as i was watching my fish and the mollies swam by my puffer i noticed an unnatural circular bump on his side that he never had before, it kind of looks like a few worms (he eats a lot of tubifex forms, but yes i know these worms probably arent the ones he ate). The worms in his side arent moving but theyre really worrying me, i was wondering if you guys can diagnose him and advise me on how to cure him. thanks.
update im not sure but i think theyre moving they seem to be further up his back now.

Sounds like Nematodes. There isn't a cure for them as far as I know, someone else can correct me on that if there is. Most fish can live with them as long as their immune systems are healthy and well kept.

Those nematodes weren't in the fish, though.
I heard that nematodes are not a problem as long as they aren't moving under the skin.

i know i cant cure him but is there a certain way i should treat him in order for him to have a healthy immmune system and not be stressed?

Just throwing an idea out there.. but it might be possible to sedate the puffer and get a closer look. Maybe snap come close up photos quickly or take a magnifying glass and get a really good look. How does the fecal matter look?
That is if the meds aren't working.

That may be too risky, a knock on the immune system from stress. I would just keep you water real clean and keep him well fed and happy. If it doesn't seem to bother him too much.

Well nothing can be perfect ... I had a 1 legged bird once.. didn't seem to bother him
Has the leasion [
b]recently[/b] appeared, or seems to get better / worse? Or have you only recently noticed it and it may have been there for a while? You mentioned normal activity and appitite...

Nothing you wouldn't normally do. Clean water, good diet. Avoid random temp and pH swings. Don't let the cat fish for him. You know, just the regular thing.

i cant seem to see the nematode on him anymore is this a good sign(it went dormant) or a bad sign(entered his system) he seems to be acting normal the past few days.
