I get my snails by just asking for the snails that reproduce too fast for the lfs. usually they just give them to me. just about anyone who has snails will be glad to get rid of some of the pest small ones. keep trying.

Yeah i already have tried, the lfs are not helpful at all, plus they only have ones which puffers are not allowed like MS etc so the only option is to send that's if any one out there will help me

He might post over at 'fishgeeks' and see if there is someone on that forum local. (not to spam this forum with another's, just thought I'd pass the info on). I think I got my MTS from there. Has he looked on aquabid to see if there is a seller of snails that's in the UK?

MTS are usually too hard for a puffer's teeth and will crack them if you feed them to it. I would say that you should check the above sites for other types of snails. MTS should be a last resort.

I usually get my snails from the LFS plant section
-seems like there new plants are always a little infested--and they are usually happy to get rid of the nuisance snails...but thats in Canada

You might want to call up a few LFS to see if you could get some.

I know the juvenile GSP I brought home last week wiped out all the snails in the tank in about a day...there were at least 3 types in there, one of which was MTS, but they were all under 1/8 in size. It was funny seeing all the 'shell debris' piled in the java moss.

I may be able to help. Are there any snails in particular you are looking for.

Nickz, What kind of puffer do you have? there are lots of other hard-shelled foods you can feed puffers other than snails. Actually, I can't even remember the last time I fed any of my puffers snails.
