Hi

just wondering how aggressive are dog face puffers

i know different personalities affects behaviours

but generally... are they more tamed than porcupines.. are they more tolerant of other tank mates...

what would be the main challenges of owning a dog face?

Thanks guys

I find them to be less aggressive than a porcupine puffer and as a matter of fact mine is less aggresive than my Diamond Goby.

Main challenges are saltwater tank and poop. :D

Check my Gallery for pics with tankmates.

Dogface puffers are considered to be one of the more peaceful puffers. We commonly keep dogfaces and porcs together at the store where I work, and there has never been the slightest sign of aggression between them.

I think any puffer would have a hard time resisting biting chunks out of a stingray.

What would you need for a dogface and a porc, 200-300 gallons?

The porc died (stress or IP ?) didn't replace him was nipping at the dogface.
The ray and dogface seem to get along so far.

Tank is 80"X30"X24" about 240g, also have a 55g sump tank.

Here is Photo of current crew.

Oh my. Its amazing how big fish can make even a 240 look small. Or were they all just crowded into one end of the tank?

That wrasse (is it a wrasse? I'm not too familiar with non-puffer saltwater) is just gorgeous! What's the spiky looking thing? It looks like Paris, only run over by a tank!
