Okay... everybody always wants pictures of tanks and to know how their tank is doing.

So... this is post where you answer 3 things and try to get a picture of your tank.

Question 1:What is your favorite thing in your tank/tanks? (Pretty obvious for most of you... Puffers!)
Question 2:How is your tank doing and how long have you been keeping puffers?
Question 3:Tell us about your favorite thing/puffer, does he seem to pay attention to you? Ect.

Answer 1: My favorite thing in my only tank is a Tire Track Eel. I do not have a Puffer yet but hope to soon get one.
Answer 2: My tank use to be in bad shape, but now my tank is doing very well and established again.
Answer 3: I have had my Tire Track Eel for 3 months. He is very interested in me and we have built a bond that allows me to hold him and pet him.

Question 2:How is your tank doing and how long have you been keeping puffers? I've kept Puffers for about two years and am happy to say all of my tanks are healthy!

Pookie, I've had him the longest...and he loves me. His eyes and fins light up when he sees me (and no, it's not because I have food in hand) ok maybe...Sometimes he gets bubbles ect stuck to his body and lets me run my hand over his belly to knock them off:)...sometimes he tries to bite me.

My second favorite is my GSP's they watch me constanly with their googly eyes while they swim back and forth in front of the tank..

Question 2:How is your tank doing and how long have you been keeping puffers? Overstocked, might get a 20 long for them. But other than the overstock, 4 GSP healthy and perky

Question 1:What is your favorite thing in your tank/tanks?
Oh, gosh. I really like all my fish. I guess I can eliminate the snails and cherry shrimp - not too much to say there. Vlad, my halfmoon betta, is gorgeous. Lola, my veiltail betta, is spunky and smart and makes me laugh. My puffers are, of course, adorable!

Question 2:How is your tank doing and how long have you been keeping puffers?
My tanks are doing fine. The only problem I'm having is that the puffers seem to have gotten IPs from somewhere, and I have to deworm again, but I'm concerned about excess meds from the food getting into the tank, and about deworming the otos, since they don't eat the food I give them right away and any meds in those would leech out quickly... into the tank and out of the food. I can't let too much of the meds into the water because I have a TON of snails in there - MTSs and adult ramshorns - that my puffers totally ignore, and the meds would kill them, resulting in a massive ammonia spike and probably a crash. The puffers are doing okay eating their medicated food, but the otos aren't going to get dewormed like this. I might have to catch them and put them in the spare tank and treat the water.

Question 3:Tell us about your favorite thing/puffer, does he seem to pay attention to you? Ect.
The one that pays the most attention to me is Lola. He's worse than the puffers about begging. He jumps for his pellets when I hold them above the water, splashes when I open the top, and tries to get on the other side of the divider to beat up Vlad. He eats the shrimp's algae pellets and gets bloated. He's a dorkus maximus.
Vlad is simply beautiful. He's got amazing colors and finnage.
The puffers are getting on my nerves at the moment because they're being picky about their food, so I don't have much nice to say about them right now. But ask me later and I'll probably tell you that they're silly and sweet and frisky and greedy and fat!

Okay, let me try this.

Question 1: Most of my 18 tanks are puffers, but I have 2 tanks devoted to crabs only, and 2 tanks devoted to mudskippers only -- and I have to say that my mudskippers are pretty cool. They rank right up there with my puffers. So it's hard to pick just one member of a tank that's my favourite.

Question 2: All of my tanks are doing really well, I rarely, if ever, have issues with water quality and the only time nitrites might come up a bit is when I've missed some food that's gotten behind one of the potted plants. Otherwise, all the tanks are doing well. I have 2 tanks that could be considered as my favourites. One is the tank that BeeBoo, my MBU, occupies, it's really nicely planted and I love lots of plants, and I think the puffers do too. The other tank is our biggest tank that sits in the middle of my dining room - the 138 gallon tank. It's a big huge cube sitting in the middle of the floor, and people think I'm retarded when they come into my house and see all the tanks, especially this big Cube. But it's cool because you can sit on the floor and watch all the fish, and it's the closest thing the fish will come to being back in nature because it's got alot of swimming room. I have quite a few Gouramis in there, along with a load of other fish, including a small dwarf puffer mob that cruises around the tank!

Question 3: Well, again, I can't pick just one. Of course BeeBoo, my MBU, is one of my favourites, he gets so excited when he sees I'm going to feed him snails that he just about comes out of the water for them. He will also take shrimp from my hand (my husband loves to hand-feed him). Because his tank is right here at the side of the computer desk, he is always hanging out on this end, so I see him alot, which is good because I can monitor his health and any other issues that need attention. Another puffer that reacts to my presence is my Fang's puffer, he's just too funny! He's getting quite fat and loves to come out and say "hi" when I come near the tank. Some of my other puffers will turn and go, but not him, he comes to the tank when he sees me. Lately he's been hanging out in his little puffer house, and I laugh when I see him because he just pokes his little puffer face out and looks around to see if he needs to come out or not. I'm also quite taken with my GSP's, as they've taken to pulling the thermometer away from the tank wall and letting it go, resulting in a "clink" noise of when the thermometer hits the glass wall. I have a feeling that they will end up busting it before long.
I also need to mention my Ceylons, they are fairly reactive to my presence as well. They are getting big and they are beautiful puffers. I am convinced that they are male and female, but not sure how you tell properly. Guessing from their behaviour, I think one is male (Pudgie) and one is female (Yorkie), and I can actually hear this "squishing" noise when they eat their raw shrimp, it sounds so weird.

Obviously I could go on and on with all my puffers, mudskippers and crabs .... but I will just leave it with what I've written. But I love all my tanks, and all the inhabitants too!

question 2 - as far as i can tell, all my tanks are doing ok at the minute!!ive had some of them for 2 years now, ive only had puffers since the summer tho
question 3 - the babies are kinda aware whats going on now i think,they all sit near the front of their tank at feeding time another fav thing isfrom my SAP's...they love 2 eat worms from my hands. shaun + paddy, the 1st 2 i got did this pretty much straight away, but the others seemed a bit shyer...they copied shaun + paddy in the end tho, and now all 6 of them eat worms + crushed snails from my hands so does the african bush fish.very cute

tried 2 get the SAP's lol,but they never ever ever sit still!! but this is where they live lol, ya can see the blurs wherethey swimming round like crazy loons

My goodness rachy, that is one SMALL puffer!! But I still say KUDOS to you for having the luck of all these cute little puffettes and for keeping them alive.

Yeah, Moe, my Tire Track Eel is pretty small. But he's actually grown a centimeter since then. You have a very good looking Fire Eel.

1. I have a couple tanks, so I'll put my fav tank. It's my 44g Figure 8 puffer (with bbgs and mollies) tank because it's so light and easy to see (other tanks are freshwater and sort of natural with tannins and not as well lighted). It's pretty balanced, and I think the decor is nicely done.

2. It's well established. I set up that tank about 1-1/2 years ago and used the filter and crushed coral from the 20g long to seed it (upgrade for puffers). There are now 2 figure 8 puffers, some mollies, and 19 bbgs. I recently got some bbgs from someone who was tearing down her brackish tank, and I got 11 instead of 7. I also got 5 Celebes rainbows, which are currently in this tank as well, but I'm not sure what to do with them as they came with the bbgs. Probably won't keep them as I don't want to risk their fins and don't have enough room to setup another brackish tank.

3. My puffers definitely pay attention to me. The original who is Grun used to be very shy and would stay away from the glass and "run away" whenever I made a movement near the tank, but since adding Schnitzel who is very much more confident, Grun has started coming right up to the glass and following my finger if I move it slowly. Schnitzel also does this. They are both interested in what's happening and if I'm feeding them this time, but I do have to be careful to not make sudden movements or they get scared (will come right back if I don't continue sharp movements).
