I'm thinking of buying frozen squid for my f8 puffers. They san fransico brand variety. Is it worth it? I bought my puffers frozen muzzels and brine shrimp with spirulnila the other day. There pop has changed color. It is less black. I want a more varied diet so there health doesn't detiriorate. There skin looks better now since I bought more food. I just want them to grow fast. I was thinking of buying the emerald eentre but, I don't kknow If I want all the added vitamins. I think I'm going to go with the squid.

My GSPs aren't a big fan of it. It probably doesn't have enough flavor for them. That, and they seem to have a tough time pulling it apart. I tend to cut it into mini pieces, but it's sometimes a hassle.

None of my puffers liked it, they bit it, and sort of just let it fall out of their mouths.

I don't feed it to mine regularly, but they eat it when I do.(mine aren't picky at all).It comes in a Marine variety pack I buy for them. It seems to be kind of chewy and is hard to distribute evenly to the fish.

Ratchet hated squid. He wouldn't even touch it. He nosed at it then looked back up at me like okay so where's the real food lol

Cool if you can get yours to eat it though.

Ya, my figure 8 ate the squid that I gave to them. I bought the squid earlier today. I was going to buy the emerald eentree but I decided to go with the squid. I soppussed to be a good source of protein, so I hope it makes them grow.

I fed squid to Grun (my first F8), and he would try to eat it and then leave it alone. He didn't seem to like it. I threw it out after it started getting freezer burned, so I have not been able to try it with my newer F8 Schnitzel.

I do, however, feed quite a variety of other frozen foods, including Emerald Entree, and I can vouch that both of mine love it. The extra vitamins are good for them, and it's good to get a variety. I, too, feed spirulina brine shrimp (rather than plain brine shrimp). Other good foods are clams (mine don't seem to realize it's food, though), mussels, shrimp, blood worms, krill (just occasionally as more of a treat than a staple because krill can cause lockjaw), etc. For shellfish, scrape the meat off until only a little left and then feed the shell with the little bit of meat so they scrape it off and wear down their teeth. Then you can save and feed the chopped up meat at other times.

It's pretty rubbery.
