He didn't even have a name yet...

I was sittin @ the computer, thinking about the best way to go about getting some heat on his tiny 2 gallon cuz the 10gallon wasn't ready yet. But I wanted to put him/her into the RIGHT size tank.

I smiled at him/her through the computer desk, got up to walk around and greet him/her and the puffer wouldn't get up to greet me back. I moved the tiny aquarium around a bit and no movement. So i stuck my hand all the way in and touched it's lifeless body and actually felt myself grieve. I feel terrible. My puffer is dead.

I believe she/he had no heat. I'm a little depressed @ the thought of it all.

I'm not giving up. I'm going to finish setting up a puffer tank & then i'm getting a couple of them. I'm going to make this work.

And to think...

The puffer didn't even have a name.

Strange... I know that I replied to this post right before the server went AWOL. I guess the response was lost in the mix. Anyway...

So sorry to hear about your loss. Although you were not prepared for the little guy when you brought him home, I know how hard you were working to make things right for him. If only he could have held out for another day or so...

Take your time and let's make sure everything is ready before you make the next purchase. In the meantime, I and the other forum members would be more than happy to answer any questions that you might have. Again, my condolences on your loss.

Yeah, I started out at WWM then moved on here due to it being directed at puffers. So yeah, I've been giving back to the puff community.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I feel your pain. They look so sad when they die. When my first puffer died he went from active to slugish in an instant, and didn't last 2 days. The last time I saw him alive he was huddled under a leaf. When I approached, he turned slowly to look at me, and slowly turned back like a hurt puppy.

On a more chipper note... better luck next time. We'll be here to guide you through it.

That is so sad. I think if my better wasn't around, i might actually tear up a bit. Damn, you sure know how to paint a lasting picture. That had to kill you inside. :-(

Yeah. I felt awful. The worst part was that I didn't have a clue what happened to the little guy that made him go so quickly. There's only been 2 fish that I ever cried over. It's the ones with personality that get ya all attached.
