hey guys i am a newbie and am currently cycling my brackish tank for a figure 8 (fell in love the minute i seen him, best personality) and i was wondering if it would be all right if i use some pool filter sand for the substrate?? I also have a reef tank and have some old sand leftover. which would be the best?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I would think it's all in what you want, doesn't matter as far as the puffer is concerned, because F8's don't bury themselves.

Hope you enjoy the forum! :D

Old reef sand is fine, as long as you rinse really well in HOT water to get out any of the diseased life from your reef that was in there. Pool filter sand is also ok, as long as there are no silicates in there. Be sure not to make the sand deeper than 1".

There is a famous tattoo artist in IN named, RoyBoy.
