Dogface Puffer and algae

My dogface puffer "Blondie" has been eating a lot of hair algae lately, is this common or an indicator of a problem?

My Ceylons bite algae off the back wall all the time, but I'm not sure if they are actually eating it. It's that brown algae that looks alot like fur, and I'm finding it all over the tank, so I think they might only be biting it off and not eating it.
I really don't know if it's a bad thing, but it seems like it shouldn't hurt them because it's totally natural.

Oh "Blondie" is eating it, you know how messy those puffers are.

maybe he's decided to turn a new leaf and become a vegetarian?

It seems a totally natural thing for puffers to have a nibble at, it may aid there digestion as i find in the filter of the puffer tanks alot (if you know what i mean). Many marine puffer species will even eat the dried algae slices ment for other fish in the tanks. So i guess the real deals fair game to.
