So, I got this outbreak of a bright green algae on the sand substrate and on a few of the upright plumbing parts in my brackish tank. It's not flowing but real short and tight packed, when I vacuum the tank it comes up in sheets. Any ideas?

Or maybe it's actually called, Cyanobacteria?

I thought that's what it was but I was hoping not...myacin is the treatment correct?

I've had very good luck with Chemipure.

So, no chemical treatment just nitrate removal by filter additive. Excelllllent!!!!!

Cyanobacteria/BGA is affected by the ratio between nitrate and phosphate. I am right now testing if adding fertilizer that contains nitrate can remove BGA. Read this about Redfield ratio. I found that really interesting.

Increase water flow, blackouts sometimes work, and I've also used the "squirt it with hydrogen peroxide" method.

Manual removal as much as you can, as often as you can is the big key though.

Week long blackout then changed the light, added a few live plants it definitely solved my algae that you described.
