I have been doing a good amount of research for a while about porcupine puffers and I'm really looking into getting one. The only problem is every site and person I talk to seems to say different things and they usually don't give specifics. I have a huge list of foods that they will eat and that are good for him but i'm still not sure what I should get and how often I should feed him what?
Any help with what you feed yours would be greatly appreciated! Please be specific with your food with what exactly it is and where you get it.
Thanks alot

I've been looking at breeding snails but i'm pretty confused and have a couple questions? What type of snails should I look for? Is it ok to feed freshwater snails to saltwater puffers? Also any other details about the snails would be great!!!
Thanks alot

Most people go with common pond snails since they multiply by the dozens. That and they grow extremely fast. I've heard of people feeding their puffers common land snails that they've bred. I doubt there would be anything wrong with feeding a freshwater snail to a saltwater fish--as long as it's not a trumpet snail. Get the ramhorn type. Avoid the mystery ones. Those don't breed very well.

Porc's don't have the "teeth" that other puffer species do, they crush their food more than bite it, so you don't have to worry as much about feeding crunchy things like snails to them.. but they sure do love them!
A good variety of food is idea.. what your puffer likes and what you can find locally will help determine some of that. I feed my burrfish a diet that is mainly nightcrawlers, thawed out raw shell on shrimp and thawed out raw scallops (from the human grocery store). She also gets snacks of snails, sometimes a crab, grasshoppers, clams, etc when I can find them.
