sorry about this but ive been reading lots of things and dont get it, i need some 1 to tell me.
say i do a 20% water change on a bw tank each week and the tank is 44.22 US gallons, the new 20%of water i want to put back in the tank, would i put that in a big bucket with a heater and add marine mix to the right salinity of my tank leave it for a wile to settle then add it to my tank?.
or would the new water's salinity get weaker when i mix it in the tank?, or would i need to put a stronger mix in?.
and would i need to put salt in every week on my water changes?.
this tank will house 2 f8's and some bumblebee goby's with maybe a couple of molly's so i will be keeping it low end bw.
please if you can help answer these questions and if you think of anything else that might help a newbie to the bw world then that would be grate, ive had fw for 10 + years but never bw.
oh yeah i dont have the tank running yet but its all set up and i just wanted to find all this out before i start the cycle.

Whenever you change water you always put in fresh water with the same salinity. When your filling the bucket up just make sure that the water is sort of the same temperature. No the salinity stays the same in the bucket and shouldn't change the salinity in your tank as long as they are the same salinity.

About "leaving it for a while" - leave it for 24hrs. It's best if you have a powerhead in there to mix it up really well.

im really looking forward to getting this tank up and running.
as im starting it fw coz the f8' will come from the lfs in fw, would i just do a 50% water change each week and the new 50% i put back in, would i make that at 00.2 and thats how i would raise it by 00.2 each week.
or would i make the 50% im going to put back in the tank at 00.4 coz i will be putting it in to another 50% of water and that would dilute it down to 00.2?.
im a little confused but i am learning lots from this site about bw, this is a really good and friendly site

i red it, but i did not understand all of it so asked these question to every 1 on here.
i dont no any 1 with a bw tank to ask these things so hoped people on here could explain these things to me
