How Much To Feed & How Often

I always see lots of comments on this in various other threads/topics. I was thinking today as I was feeding my little guys & wondering if one meal a day WAS actually the best thing. Surely fish this young/tiny/active must have a faster metabolism than some of the giant puffers or lurkers - therefore it would make sense to feed them 2-3 smaller meals a day, rather than one big one? They can't be able to cram enough food in to those bellies (I know they would try) to sustain them for 24 hours. I can see the sense in feeding only one meal a day to the biggies, but the more I think about it (probably way too much!) the more I think little & often has got to be more beneficial. It must be a more natural way to feed too, because in the wild they constantly hunt & forage. I wonder if wild puffers would gorge themselves to the point of explosion?!
Any thoughts?

My train of thought was the exact same. I think I might have to experiment. Although one meal is easier for me to remember.

Yep, got them on Saturday. The tiniest little GSPs I have seen - can only be a few months old (Luigi & Flash!). They look really healthy & are constantly on the go - which got me thinking about their feeding habits. They must burn off calories pretty fast - I have never seen them stay still!

as long as you give your puffers time to digest i think there is no problem

I wonder - were they tank-bred? Have the tank-bred ones made it to the UK? As young as they are, I can see them coming straight from the grow-out tanks.

I didn't think to ask at the lfs. Maybe I will give them a call tomorrow. I assumed they were wild caught, but would be better if they were tank bred as I have always felt a bit sad about taking them from the wild.

Ive been mulling this over the past couple of days, I used to give him a 1/4 lump of bloodworm in the morning and 1/4 in the evening but he always seems to be hungry, but being a greedy kind of fish didnt want to overfeed him.
I gave him a bigger piece of cockle which he ate, but then seemed to go off food for a day or so, so not sure what that was all about :? (maybe someone could help please :D )
