Dear all....which kind of fish could I insert in a task of 66 gallons with a Tetraodon Nigroviridis!? Do you think is it possible to insert monodactylus fish!? Thank you. Elisa

I wouldn't say that you can't have any fish in with nigroviridis, but I'd be careful because they can be nippy and whatever you put in with him might end up with missing fins or small bites taken out. I don't keep any other fish with mine.

Dear Schismy...I have supposed it. I'm troubled because I have two Nigro but now they are young...now they are all together to sleep and swim in the task...but when they'll grown up if they are two males...I'll have a problem. That's right!?

GSPs get more aggressive as they get older. So there's a good chance that you will get problems. But you never know with puffers...

Monos should really be kept in schools, a single individual probably wouldn't be that happy. They are pretty robust and quick fish that may be able to avoid the attentions of the GSP.

If I were to try to keep them together then I would buy a school where the individuals compare in size with the GSP and ensure that there was enough swimming/evasion space for when they reach their adult size. Monos are really active fish so should have plenty of swimming space anyway.

If brought up together as juvies, 2 or more adult GSPs should get along together but like Troender said, you just never know with puffers... That is also only if you have plenty of room for them (minimum of 30g ea) & tons of decor to break up lines of site & to develop their own territories. As far as tank mates--there really aren't any fish that can handle the transfer from low BW-SW with them that make good tank mates, so you'd be best to wait until they are adults in SW & then pick a few good, hardy marine fish like damselfish & maybe a tomato clownfish (again, there would have to be plenty of room, so add on to that 30g ea).

Dear all.... thank you!! I think I'll wait....I'm organizing a task of 300 lt (I think 75 gallons). I'd like to put in the mangrove with a ligthing of 150 W. I really hope the puffer doesn't jump....

Yeah!! I think that...if I'd like to take monos too...I have to have got a task of 450 lt I know they live in schools...and If I don't go wrong they grown up a lot!! Another things....my puffers dont' like anymore Kryll.....I give them a varius food...but there is a period they don't like anymore Artemia and Kryll...they want fresh food. I give them little shellfish..clam...shrimp and tattler but i'm searching for the snails. Sometime anlgeworm...

Please always COMPLETELY cover your tank with a puffer. THEY WILL JUMP!!!

I'LL DO IT!!!!!!!! OF COURSE!! I don't put inside the mangrove!!! Do you think it's very expensive to close the task?? may be it's better I'll buy a serial task with the cover. What do you think? I have found a task of 75 gallons for 290 euro...but without the cover.

You can do a DIY cover with a screen, or you could get a used hood. Depends on your lighting, I guess.

On 20 th September I'll begin to change water...from fresh to brackish!!:)

Now I have not a problem because I have a task with the cover....but I'll change it in 2 months. I would like to put inside the mangrove but I cannot if the puffer jump...so I think I'll buy a task with the cover. I have to seen all the price.... Thank you for your answer!!! It's a good idea.....to use a screen or old hood.
