Newbie puffer owner. Need advice.

I just got a new puffer. I have 2 tanks that are cycling properly(im guessing they have 0 ammonia and have been running for about 2 years). ive learned alot in the past week but ive got a long way to go. ive bought all kinds of test kits. no expense is spared for this little puffer and im willing to do what ever it takes. any advice would be a great aid. Im checking ammonia lvls bi hourly at this point. I just want this guy to make it.
The 25g tank if 5 days old. i added the "hairy" puffer last night. there has been little fish and a hajita gar in the tank
Ive added Nutrafin Cycle from days 2-4 idk if that has helped.
There is food for the puffer. (small snails and a inch long crawfish)
Ill add a list of all the water parameters tomorrow morning. i just did a 50% water changed less than a half hour ago
