I found my dream puffer tetraodon pustulatus
£650 at the wharf aquatics

one day when my knowledge of puffers are better i will have one but id haggle that price

Anyone have or had one of these? they are beautiful *drool

I want to go take a look anyone up for a trip lol

Ok I went to wharf today and took some pics with my phone..the tetraodon pustulatus wouldnt look at me when i wanted to take a pic so i only have his backside however he has a few other fish with him i think barbs? apparently he doesnt eat any of them and is super friendly just camera shy!



And a few stingrays they had











i enjoyed my trip there,has some figure 8 not for sale as they had been fighting and had alot of flesh taken outta them

i really liked the congo puffer there which really did look like a potato wasnt red like Puffer punks which i wish they had so i could see

had a fahaka in there which was sold,was watching it eat and it kept looking at me as to say 'get lost,didnt u know its rude to watch ppl eat' lol and when it spat its food out it would like at me and say 'umm yea i dont have table manners'

When we were at Wharf several weeks ago, they had 2 Fahakas, a Congo puffer that was the fiestiest little puffer I've ever seen. When the guy opened the little door, the Congo came up and out of the water as much as he possibly could and tried to bite the guy! If I had had an extra £30, I would have had him, even though he wasn't red, he was funny, but I bet doing water changes and moving plants is a real challenge with that puffer!
When we were on our way out, we were talking to the manager and he informed us that they were about to get the pustulatus, but aside from the fact that it's a fairly large puffer, the price tag just totally put me off. I'm sorry, but I can't see paying more than £100 for a puffer, any puffer.
Doraemon, are you looking to get some Figure 8's? I have some puffers for sale, as I'm trying to scale down my collection and make more room for the puffers I have. I also have some really lovely Green Spotted puffers, better condition than you will find at most shops and rather good prices too. If you've been to Wharf then you aren't too far from where I live. Or if you know anyone else that's looking for some puffers, I have several different ones up for sale. I've got a list going in the classifieds section on here.

So how much is that Pust in US$?

It's $1062 at todays rate.

They are really lovely fish though. Definately one of my favourites. But when I think of what you could buy for that (another tank?).

i did see the congo puffer schismy007 and im tempted to get him lol he is real feisty and i stood there for like 10mins cos it made me laff so much cos it was staring me out and moved when i moved.

the pustalus is owned by the manager there and swapped him for some stingrays cos he want to breed them...stingrays sell for alot here and finding a breeding pair is quite hard..

by the way schismy007 how much did u pay for ur red congo?

wildwoods in london have one for sale at £45 and a abei for £17 tho mr potatoe face at wharf is £30

schismy007 i would like a figure 8 or gsp but i dont have any experience in brackish water environment, tho i have read how to go about it i dont really want to risk a puffers life because of my lack of experience..so for now im sticking to freshwater..even tho my marine biologist friend wants to tempt me into marine becos i like the dog puffer so much lol...come on who doesnt want a dog in a tank?? no walkies whatsoever

I tooka drive to wharf yesterday that cross river is lovely but his fin is ripped (shame) the royal motoros and jag rays were adorable. they had 1 nile and a congo puffer......

i was amazed at how lovely there tanks were the 1500 gal with ripsaw cats dat cambelli and 2 FRTs was amazing....

its a shame i got a baby mbu 2 weeks ago or i would be leaving with the cross river. anyway ive left a wish list with them to stock my new tank (when i build it)

3x flower rays
10-15x cichla temensis ( pa bass)
1x dat cambelli

with my mbu and RTC should be good although the cat after 3-4 years will have to move to a trop pond

yea how long can i live without a mbu in my house.... 2 months :/ i may try to convince Emilia to (and i use this word wisely "Allow" me to get a 5x2 and try and get the cross river also......

I doubt it very much as the tank at the new house is costing us £3,000 maybe more thats what we have to one side but i think with stock may go up to 4k mark :/
