Besides the Miurius and Suvatti, are there any other true piscivorous freshwater puffers?

I know the palembang and Abei might be an opportunitsitic one, but any ones that would be healthy to regularly have fish as a meal?

My Miurius died when I went on vacation (the fish sitter gave it nightcrawlers)

Baileyi is also a piscivore. I've got suvattii, Palembang, Abei, of course my Baileyi, and also a miurus (Congo). I have to admit my Congo (she's orange) is one of my favourites, and tomorrow I am going to pick up a red Congo, and can't wait for that!! Yee-ha!

I don't think it was the nightcrawlers that killed your Miurius, I feed them to my Suvatti all the time, they are his favorite and his main food. The only thing I do with them is remove them from their original shipping container and put them in a box with leaf litter and crushed up dried seaweed, veggies, and fruit compost. I add some powdered vitamins to the mix every so often (when I remember). You just have to be careful that the dirt they are sent in doesn't contain chemical additives like vermiculite (little white spheres) to prolong their "shelf life".

I just fed out a dozen nightcrawlers tonight. It's funny how long they can stay alive underwater.

Yeah, but getting your hook cleaned is just part of the experience. Just like the sticky hands from worm poop.

Yeah, I figured it had something to do with additives to the worm so they survive longer.....

how long do you guys keep your worms in the homemade dirt before you feed them to your fish? How long does it take for the chemicals to 'get' out of the worms system?

I can't answer that. I was talking about actual fishing. I feed my fish frozen blood worms.

On a side note, I just spent 10 minutes watching one of my ghost shrimp lay eggs. That was kinda cool. I'm hoping to breed shrimp as another source of food.
