The Puffer Forum

Has anyone used antibiotics for their puffer? Seems to be many available in the USA, but not here in the UK. I think I need to get some, but am struggling to find information on what is available & what is safe for my GSP.

Have you tried Melafix and/or Pimafix? When I've had problems they've done wonders for my puffers. You probably already know about those, but just thought I'd ask.

Currently using Pimafix (day 3) but have just had to clean his mouth of the fleshy white stuff again.

So, it's not a fungus then, is it? So you may well need something more than Pimafix. Sorry, I didn't realise.

No, we think it's a fungus (this conversation's going on in another thread), but bigfatfish needs something stronger than Pimafix.

I just wish it was kept up to date....

Maybe try wiping out his mouth with peroxide on a Qtip. I had to do that for my tounge piercings. It even comes in a gel form for the mouth.
