ok I have a new porky puffer, who was at first in tank with a triggerfish. But the trigger fish kept biting the puffer so that fish went back!
During recovery from shock the puffer had a slightly frayed left fin but that has completely regrown! hes not stressed eats like a pig etc.
but lately i know noticed where his Left fin had regrown, a thrush type white growth started to form on that bit of the fin. Also below his left Gill there is another Cotton wool like Bud growing out of his skin. Now done some research which is saying thats it Lymphocystitis (Viral Infection), and that there is nothing you can do except wait for his own immune system to wipe it out. Now Im not sure if it is this viral infection or if it could be something else? But if it is a viral infection is there anything else you can do?

I have bought Vitamins called Vitazin by Waterlife ltd, we are in UK here so dont have access to Dr Tims. Im adding the Vitamins to his food and water plus the Fahaka too incase any infectious things have got in his tank although he shows no signs of this disease.

Another question I have is if this is Viral will these Nasty White buds spread all over his Body??

All water parameters are 0 except nitrate which 15ppm! ph is 8.2 and salinity 1.020

Possibly fungus growths? Can you get a picture?

Sounds very much like a fungus. Get some Primafix. That should clear it up.

It may be a virus. As with most viral problems though, it would have to run its course & we can only treat any possible secondary infections.

Oh shoot, I skipped the sentance or too with the viral infection suggestion. Oh and bigfatfish, I think it is Primafix, although I may have read it wrong. I'm going to go do some research. BRB.

Definately Pimafix over here! I'm using some at the moment for a possible mouth fungus!

Not sure I could hazard a guess from that! He doesn't exactly look like a poorly puffer though! Pimafix is a natural product that wouldn't harm him & it may do some good or at least prevent it getting worse. Hopefully the forum experts will shed some light on it.

Sounds like a fungus to me. I couldn't see diddly-squat in the video, though. Treat with Pimafix and Melafix, or, if you can't find those, move him into a hospital tank and treat with a stronger antibiotic. Keep his water conditions as perfect as is humanly possible.

If that was it, then I'm still guessing fungus.
